Default Decoration Lights

These are my different attempts tonight to squeeze in on the challenge for the month. I'd seen his decorations out during the day for weeks, but was never at his house when it was dark.

These are all handheld as I didn't have my tripod with me. I just leaned up against the car. And, I wished I'd had my 18-250 lens with me. I kept having to lower the time for the exposure because it seemed no matter how slowly I turned the lens, I still had some down time at the end to wait.

This is what the house looks like when standing still. There are more displayed to the right that I forgot to get. I'd hate to see their electric bill. They do this every year.

This next one is just the house.

These last two are just where I went crazy with the sharpening. I kind of liked the effect it gave the images.

All taken with the K20 and the 18-55WR kit lens. Mostly tried to keep it between 10 and 20 seconds since hand holding.

This was the original one I had submitted. But, realized I liked the one above better.

I also played around with the saturation of the different colors in different parts in this one.

Patty...

All that's showing is "Content Protected by Owner" for your shots...

You will have to change your permissions in your account with your image host
if you want them to appear here...

Hmmm, they were showing when I looked at them. Probably because I'm signed in. Let me try something else. Thanks for letting me know.

Patty

I'm not signed in any more and they are showing for me now. Let me know if they still don't show for others. I don't usually do links like this. Every time I do it I have to relearn how.

Nope, still not showing...

You have to change the permissions at the host site to allow others to see them... You
can see them because they are yours and you probably have cookies on your system from
the host that say's so...

If you have your images/gallery at the host site set as "Private" you may need to change
it to "Public"...

I quit. The gallery is set as public. It's that the particular image option I selected (the original photo) is not public. But, the ones that are public are smaller than 500 pixels and for some reason all I can get is the text to show, not the images. So, I just uploaded the images into the post.

Thanks for going to all that extra effort so they would show up!
And thanks also for sharing some fine bright Christmas images! All the crazy light trail ones are fascinating, but I still like the 1st one best. Indeed they must have some amazing electric bills in December!

Nice series, like the first two best.
Last years those light outside houses are slowly showing up around my neighborhood to, but most of them don't go so far.

Nice series. I really like the last one, a wonderful abstraction. I did a bunch of these type of shots with Christmas tree lights last year. Will have to try some more this year, you've given me some good ideas.
