It has been extremly cold for this time of year and for my island (Gotland) we usually just have around 1 cm snow , windy and around -3degree celsius. but this last week we've had 40-60cm snow, and around -14degrees.

Nice pictures of a not at all very nice weather situation. Some of my students couldn't get home after school today because of drifting snow blocking the roads (in eastern Skåne, Sweden). You beat me to it telling the Americans how old an old building in our country is, Michael. And Visby is really one of the oldest towns in Sweden. Two of my older siblings were born there, but in spite of that I've never visited Gotland (the island where Visby is located). I'd love to go any time the Stockholm annual invasion is off.

not sure why they switched the roof, but the church itself is from 1225, and it is one of the few churches on Gotland (there are over 100 on this small island) that hasn't been burned!
So my guess is that they just renovated the roof when the old one collapsed :/

Well, there are alot of history in the innercity of Visby. Tomorrow I will try and get some nice pictures of our Great City Wall...

Yeah, I always try to work when the annual invasion is on but it is quite fun just mingling around them and look at the *stupid* kids spending alot of money!
