Thanks for all the kind comments folks. A day and a half is not enough time to do Zion justice, but it was all the time I had. (And with my wife's health problems I debated seriously about whether I should even take that time.)

GW, I would have invited you, but I thought you're already deep enough in the swamp with all your recently acquired lighting equipment. I didn't think it would be a good idea to tell your wife, yes, I'm flying to Vegas, but honest honey, I'm going directly to a national park. I won't even look at the casinos as I drive by.....

i really enjoyed these photos
great vistas and excellent photos of the wildlife
i have the fisheye lens and find it really handy for landscapes
especially when trying to include the foreground

Amazing scenery, well documented. You made good use of the 10-17, too. Thanks for posting. (You have to watch out for those shadow self-portraits, though! )

Thanks again for all the kind comments folks. Penolta, I tried to eliminate the shadow, but with such a wide angle I couldn't. So for better or worse, I decided to make it a part of the composition.

Lovely. I can't decide which are my favorites. I think all of them.
