Default Icy Waterfalls - Part 1

Had a bit of spare time recently to visit several area waterfalls - partly to check trail conditions, mostly to enjoy some good cold-weather hiking!

First stop was Pine Ridge Falls. It's a small (20') waterfall up on Longarm Branch. Not the most picturesque, but a lovely little cascade... Here are two views - any preferences?

Back down Longarm Branch Trail and then up Sill Branch Trail to visit the other nearby waterfall.

We noticed lots of ice in Sill Branch, which made for some interesting images (and some interesting walking too!)

Flow levels were rather low, despite recent rains and snows. But the creek was still quite lovely...

Sill Branch Falls is about 40' high, and only much flow at times of high water. Judging from all the ice around the falls, there was more flow recently than there is now...

Great shots as always mole! I always love seeing your waterfall shots. Been seeing my fair share of snow and ice around here with this cold weather though.

And here are several views of the falls. I had a lot of trouble deciding how to expose the photo both for the water and for the ice. (either water looked too grey, or ice too blown out...) Glad for any suggestions on these!

Wow!! I love those ice pictures in Sill Branch, especially the ones where it looks like you're "looking out" through the sheets of ice. What a cool perspective!

Also... congratulations this morning

And how much snow did you all get? I have about 2 inches outside hooray!!

WOW!!! Those last waterfall shots are absolutely incredible. wow.

edit: I think the 1st and 3rd look the best exposure-wise, my very unprofessional opinion.
