# 2 the American Wigeon is very sharp..can see details in feathers. Birds in flight pix the Gas Hawk and Willets are sharp...AF with this combo seems good.

Hmm, interesting. Makes me want to try to get my Sigma APO 400mm F5.6 serviced. I just recently paid $10 bucks for it. It is beat to crap, has water damage, the AF slot looks like it was ground with a drill, the auto aperture doesn't work (still stops down as an M lens though). I wonder how much they would give me for it!

It sounds like I might have to wait a week, but hopefully will be getting the OS version of the 120-400mm - I am looking forward to replacing my 55-300 with something reliable and longer.

Well, I received my 120-400 - the OS version - so far with some quick testing I am impressed - quite sharp stopped down, only somewhat soft at the long end wide open. Can't wait for it to warm up so I can put it to use!

Congratulations on your acquisition - we look forward to seeing some of your images.

A few birds taken with this lens were posted here a couple of days ago:

I can't wait to put it to some real-world use. In the meantime I did add a link to my picasa galleries...lots of Italy, mostly with the 15mm...kind of the complete opposite to the 120-400 but I had a blast taking them!

Thanks, Dawg. I'm afraid you will have quite a wait for this one, though!
