Default Pentax K-5 Reviewed by DPreview

It looks like the more-credible professional reviews of the K-5 are beginning to come though. DPreview just posted its analysis today:

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentaxk5/

I'm sure it won't be very long before Steve's has a full review as well.

More and more I see this as being my next camera.
I was seriously considering going to another Brand but, if this proves to be what its cracked up to be, then I'll remain with Pentax for a while longer.
Maybe Pentax is starting to listen to us peons that can actually make or break there place in the market.

GW they have even rated it lower than they should have, it has the same body as the K7, so why do they rate it lower than the k7 ...

What surprises me is the conclusion of the review. Especially the negatives...

AF system not as versatile as Nikon D7000 (which is a cheaper camera)

There is no mention of AF not being flexible on the K-5.

Did i miss something?

What they are talking about there is the D7000 has a 39-point AF system vs. 11 for the Pentax. It may also be that there are more custom settings for the Nikon AF system - which makes it more flexible. So, the comment in the review is not that the Pentax is bad, just that it's not as flexible as the competition - which would seem to be a true statement.

Hey, I am still excited about my "new" K20D

I am usually one to two generations behind but I will eventually catch up (maybe).

Don't get too stressed over reviews, this one is overwhelmingly positive with real nit picking to find flaws.

DP give gold award for K5, while D60 & 7000D only have silver
