Default Sunset on Hangzhou West Lake

After taking my daughter to a casting in Hangzhou we took the opportunity to spend some time around the lake.

Only one of these shots has had any PP except noise reduction with Topaz Denoise.

These were the first shots with my new Tamron 17-50 f2.8. I think I like this lense

I would appreciate it if you could tell me your preferred 1,2,3 from these 6 .. thanks !

Beautiful pictures, I can't really make a decision between the first 3. They are too different. That city scape is really awesome. I do have a question - in the 4th one there's something in the tree/hanging down from a branch. I can't figure out what it is - a balloon or??? In any case, it seems very out of place in such a beautiful location. I'm just curious.

Number four looks kind of plain next to the others, and its a great shot, too! Put those in a book, they look professional.

Thank you for your kind comments John - I'm sure you'd love China, so much to shoot !

Harriet, thank you ! : re. #4 - in this shot I used flash to fill in the foreground as that is a burst balloon (you guessed correctly !) in the tree with a disk that spins below it, the disk has some good luck character written on it - although no-one in my office was able to make out what it says !

Lyrics - Thanks for your very kind comments, I plan to actually put a book together for my parents and close friends so I guess (from the feedback on a few forums) that as people like them then my parents should too so maybe a couple of these will make the cut.

Thank you Armadillo !

It is CT - such a variety of subjects. Thanks !

Thank you Patty !

Thought some of you might be interested so here I'm posting the results of the voting on these shots. It was a very revealing exercise because I really had no idea how people would vote and in the end I was surprised a little.

Voting was across 3 forums, 3 points for a 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for a 3rd :

#1 = 30
#2 = 34
#3 = 61
#4 = 12
#5 = 14
#6 = 10

My own preference ?

1. #1
2. #3
3. #6 & #2

But I keep changing my mind

Thank you all for your comments and your votes !
