Default Snow is "For the Birds"

Plenty of snow here in the East Tennessee Hills lately - which means plenty of chances to enjoy some winter rambles!!

The Bluejays don't seem to mind the snow at all - they do have a thick "feather coat!"

Cardinals also seem to thrive in the cold. Here are some views of a female and a male cardinal, plus a close-up of the male...

On the other hand, this Carolina Wren was perched on our front door! Perhaps he was seeking escape from the cold winds??

And we found some evidence that at least one White Tailed Deer did not make it through the cold...

We were surprised to find some mushrooms still undamaged by all our recent storms!

And we've also enjoyed some wonderful sunsets between the recent storms...

Great series as always, Mole!
The snow really gives the birds a nice contrasting background.
You really got some detail in that last Cardinal shot!
The Carolina wren reminded me of the Palm warbler that flew into the warehouse at work last week and flew into the office and onto a potted poinsettia plant sitting on the table and just started pecking at whatever it is they peck at and barely gave me a glance! Where the heck is a camera when you need one!?

I love the mushroom shots and the sunsets are awesome!
