That is a pretty gutter - looks like it's been raining. What is the blossom from? It looks like the blossoms I used to see from some trees that had been planted around a parking lot (that's now a construction site).

The blossom comes from a Eucalyptus Gumnut.

It sure has been raining, Brisbane has had so far this month 480mm, that's the most we have had in 30 years and has caused some local flooding.
Some parts of Queensland and New South Wales are in extreme flood with thousands evacuated, some creeks and rivers running for the first time in 60 years, many new rainfall records set.

Luckily we are safe and it was good to see rain after our 10 year drought, it also was the coolest December on record which was very welcome after the extreme heat of Christmas's past.

Thanks - there are a number of Eucalyptus trees planted around work. They grow very well in California.

I thought I had heard about flooding in Queensland, but wasn't sure you would be affected. Glad to hear about the break in the temperatures, helps keep fires down. But flooding is definitely not good. Parts of L.A. had that problem last week, too.

Rodney, only you could make a gutter look appealing!

Sorry to hear about your flooding. With all that rain did the outback get any? If so it should have some incredible bloom this year.
