Default Just a preview of the Pow Wow...

Linda and I went to a Pow Wow this weekend. It was really educational and a lot of fun too.
They had all types of people dressed in traditional costume from a variety tribes. I took over 350 photos hear is a little sampler.
I really miss my 55-300.
I started out with the 12-24mm but new right away I needed more reach so, I went with the 50mm f:1.7 I need a lot more practice with this lens but, over all, I'm pretty happy with it. Lighting inside the big tent was quite poor so flash was really necessary.

First two were with the DA 12-24mm the rest were with the 50mm f:1.7

Superb job with the 50/1.7 John. There are some cracking shots in there, wonderful colours and sharpness ! I love the guy in Orange and the headshot of the old guy in blue the best.

Fascinating series - so glad you were able to photograph so much of the action and spirit of the pow wow! Looks like that 50mm lens works very well in your capable hands!

PS - you should have bought that A 70-210 - would have been perfect "substitute" for your 55-300...

Thank you, Keven and Mole.
I was pleased with the color the 50mm reproduces.
I could have used these pics for last months challenge!

Very colorful and interesting series. Nice work with the 50mm 1.7. You did a great job handling the lighting of these shots.
