Default Boston The Day After...............

We had to go to Boston today to pick up visas for a trip we will soon be taking to South America. After more than a foot of snow falling on the city yesterday, traffic was light and parking was easy.

We happened to park next to the Public Gardens, the place where my wife and I met on a skating date on the 5th of January 1958. The picture is of Evelyn now; with the view behind her the snow covered Frog Pond. The little square building on the pond was where we would sit to lace up our skates. Lots of nostalgia!

I've had this blanket on me but I still can't get warm!

Brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

Love the shots, that's some snow but it looks like the city handled it well. I gather they no longer have ice skating on the pond - how sad! Ice skating outdoors can be so much fun (only did it once, but it was great!).

Harriet - The Frog Pond is still skateable when frozen and not snow covered. There is a new skating rink a short walk from there in the Boson Commons that is more frequented now. In the summer the pond is the home of the famous Swan Boats that serenely glide you around the pond.

I forgot to mention that the pictures were taken with my K100 and 16-55 kit lens.

Kevin and Jehan - We will be touring Igauzu Falls and Rio then cruising to Montevideo, Uruguay; Buenos Aries, Argentina; the Falkland Islands; Ushuaia, Argentina (Tierra Del Fuego) ; Punta Arenas, Chile; through the Chilean Fjords to Santiago, Chile. We then do a post tour of Lima, Cusco and Machu Pichu, Peru. Coming from Boston it will be like jumping into a hot shower!

all pretty, but my favorite i think is the street shot right after the blanketed statue.... that would be #4. you used the lines so beautifully there!

Nice work, Lou!

I think it was Queen Elizabeth, that said that Igauzu Falls makes Niagara look like a tear drop. I'd love to see it in person one day. You're one lucky guy, Lou!

From all I have heard and seen about Iguazu falls I'm likely to get soaked taking pictures of this venue so I purchased an 18-55WR lens and I think it will come in handy on this trip.
