Default Lou's Visit

One of our forum members, Lou (Keltech), was in South Florida visiting relatives. Yesterday I met him at Green Cay Wetlands where we saw a fair number of birds. We moved on to Wokodahatchee Wetlands where we encountered a spectacular variety of birds. I saw my first American Bittern in Wakodahatchee. Never got shot in total open but the first I have photographed. I am attaching photos of four of the species we saw, will let Lou see how many different species he captured that he wants to post to the forum.

K5, Sigma 150 500mm HSM

1. American Bittern - Mottled Ducks in foreground
2. Roseate Spoonbill
3. Osprey
4. Great Blue Heron - with attitude!

Very nice pictures, but the GBH looks strange. It's a funny angle and it makes it look like he has very little body and no tail feathers! A very odd-looking bird, indeed.

The bittern is a lovely picture.

Wow that Heron is having a bad hair day, nice shots. I tried to get to Wakodahatchee last year but time did not allow it. I will try again this year in March.
