Default Forecast: Sunny,Cold & Windy

This morning again we had crazy winds..but we had sun! Again I was up and on my way to work before the sun rose and caught this field of straw bales shivering in the wind..

And before the sun came up and because I am a sucker for sunrises and sunsets I thought I get this sign against the pre-sunrise (if that's a word).A local craftsman who does great metalwork made this for the entrance highway to Minnedosa. It's about 25 feet long and signifies the town's role as a railroad hub many many moons ago.

I like #2 ...... but #1 is just DDG (drop dead gorgeous) !

The only thing I'd change on #1 is PP out the telegraph pole on the right. I know, it's tiny, but my eyes keep getting dragged across there when they shouldn't (the ones behind the bales don't distract me at all) !!

Wow...second photo excellent ! First photo is really good too...but reminds me of the cold too much.

I think you should send to the town council of Minnedosa...that would be a fabulous picture on the front...or anywhere really...of their travel brochure.

They should credit you and the local craftsman.

I have seen a number of travel brochures for regional areas, towns, etc...around the province.

Many of the pictures don't do anything to grab one's attention....this picture is exceptional....the outline of the train, the colour....also pertains to the history of Minnedosa and the railroad.

Thankyou all for looking and the kind comments!
Frogfish,I did what you suggested and I removed both of the poles.Actually it kind of bothered me,too.I only use basic editing programs (I'm too cheap and the learning curve on some of them ..like Gimp..really scares me..lol) But I found Windows Live Photo gallery has a good removal tool..and now the poles are gone!..
Lensmore, that's a good idea..I'll see if they are interested. There is another similar sign with town's name..I'll try and get a shot of that and maybe combine the two somehow.
Here's the field sans poles..

Both photos are undeniably award winners. I didn't even notice the pole till I saw Frogfish's comment, but I agree -- it looks better without it.
