Interesting how things have changed. Back in the late '60's, early'70's...Silver and black were the norm...all black bodies were unusual and sought after.

My first Pentax was a '68 model...S1a...silver and black body.....second model ('74)was a Pentax ES 11, which was the top of the line Pentax body then.

I could have it either silver and black or all black...can't recall, but black might of been a bit pricier.

I went for black...as black then was the 'professional' look and I was a young guy...so image was more important .

In fact I almost bought a NOS Nikon Photomic F slr, then and it was silver and black.

Now black bodied cameras are the norm and Pentax's limited edition is silver and black.

I still prefer the black...but I do like those silver coloured limited lenses....they have that older Leica look about them.

No doubt though in years to come the limited edition silver and black Pentax K5 body, will be worth more, then the garden variety black body K5.

That's definitely a handsome piece of first class equipment.

I saw this and wanted both. But then, I still want a storm-trooper white camera, too.

I really wanted a black camera back when I bought my first Pentax, a brand new ME Super but the black was more expensive and hard to get. My first black camera was a used Minolta Maxxum 5000 many years later. When my wife bought me my first dSLR it was a *istDL, in the silver that was offered in Canada. At first I was a little disappointed but it grew on me to the point that I just bought another one, with a silver FA 28-105mm f3.2-4.5. No it isn't metal, just silvered plastic, but I still like the classic look.
