Default Coldest week I have ever experienced in Finland

Well, this week has been way, way too cold! Been minus 35, but today, a jok'n heatwave came through... it got up to -16 C. So, I ran across the street to the lake and took a few shots. Here is one... as you can see, the sun is still low.

Great shot, -35 is pretty cold, here it stayed near that for a few days as well, wind chill is the real killer, reaching near -50. We had a warm up overnight, got up to -11 briefly, but that just meant high winds and zero visibility. Being north of the tree line but near the ocean we get more moderate temperatures than yours but without any trees the wind can be vicious.

Hope the temperatures stay more reasonable. Sunrise here today was just after 10am and it won't go down until just after 6pm so we have a real day now.

Keep warm, and keep those excellent images coming.

Hi Ira! And thanks for the kind comments. Yeah, the windchills must be really something where you are. I just added a second photo above. Thanks for looking. Stay warm and take care.

Here is one more from today... Yes, the snow really looked that blue... I didn't dare want to mess around with the colours.

Love the pictures, and glad to hear it's warmed up some. It's looking like we might actually have a bit of winter coming up - a welcome change. It's been a pretty mild winter over-all.

It has been a cold winter. Glad to hear you got a little warmth there.

Your photos even look cold.

Great photos Ned, and I have to agree with you: -35, regardless of whether it's Fahrenheit or Celsius, is too darn cold!
