Default Mars Challenge - The little things in life

Hi everyone!! i was so happy that you voted for me! I've had this little idea for some time now and finally I get to test it!!

My challenge for Mars is: the little things in life, what that means is whatever you wan't it to be.
It can be everything from macro to something that you'll like. Be creative, think out side the box and the most important factor of all, HAVE FUN!

The usual rules apply!

Happy Challenge!

A neat topic - either something small in stature or a little thing that gives great happiness/satisfaction (or pain, I suppose). Maybe I'll try product photography (an area that I've never worked at) and try photographing my FA 77 - it's a little thing that gives me very great happiness. On the other hand, one of my all-time favorite pictures for some reason is of a staple puller, taken with the DA*200 and using a very small dof (dof can be little, too - another dimension to this topic? Oh boy, could this be a fun month!).

What, no pictures yet? I'm surprised with such a fun topic. I guess I'll start it off. I may pick something else later, but for now this will do.

Here's something that's a little thing best not forgotten (but occcasionally is forgotten, always at the worst moment).

How about this one as a temporary place holder:

The little things in life that help keep me sane in the far north, A nice coffee from the French press and a small light camera to play with. I will try for an "artsier" version later.

It's currently big things that occupy my mind and keep me rather busy; but here are the smallest independent surfaces that provide me with info from the time I wake up till bedtime: the pixels of the super high resolution display of my iPhone 4

K5 with 55-300 and the raynox dcr-250 clip-on macro, cropped 100%

This is a shot I took in January. I posted a couple of these then and someone thought they were faked. These are the real thing and were taken on my front porch after a dusting of snow one morning. It had been windy so most of the flakes had been blown off. I added some contrast and cropped this one, but that's all. I did have a close up filter on the camera and the main flake here is about an eighth of an inch wide. DL with the kit lens.

The 'little things' I am currently enamoured with are little birds so for my initial entry (unless I can come up with something else I like more) this tiny Venous Throated Parrotbill :
