Default Hey Jachol ???

remember a few years back we were both looking for a rack and pinion gear for a DIY macro slide?? just found one.
i broke a 4'' vise the other day and the guts would work just fine. a smaller vice would do even better.. roy

Roy - glad to see you're feeling well enough to post a bit again! Someone I know near Houston said the winter this year had some real rough patches, so I hope it's gotten warm enough for you to get out and take some pictures.

Default Yo !, Roy.

Good to see you posting again. Yeah I remember we both were looking for a cheap DIY slide. ... I did improvise one using a metal kitchen drawer slide rail + a length of fine pitch screwed rod, which worked OK, but was very bulky, and it took ages to wind the screw to the focus point ... fine adjustment was very good though.
I eventually acquired a slide rail, and a set of Pentax fit bellows cheaply on Ebay, see attachment ... Jack.

Hi Roy,
I've been searching for this shot of the sliderail + bellows, mounted lens is a tamron 105/2.5
Here's a link to some test shots done with the earlier dedicated macro lens. ... Jack
