Very nice Penolta. And yes, we really do appreciate your posting these. Mother Nature played a little April Fools joke on us today and dumped four inches of new snow. But we're on the edge of the storm. I'm told that 100 miles to the east, in New Hampshire and Maine, they got more than a foot!

Hi penolta,

It's just too green there -- but there's hope for us-- 50's and raining today. The trees are budding, and we'll probably get an explosion of green soon.

Scott and Mtnman, happy to bring a bit of Spring to you - never fear, it is not far off. What is depressing is the thought of all those migrant birds that have left the warmer climes expecting mild weather and flown into those late storms. Some one recently posted a picture of a snow covered Robin on her nest - food for her must be scarce at the moment - she has to hope for a thaw before her eggs hatch.

Pen, you are so right. This afternoon as I drove home from work, I passed a 10-acre marsh that looked like just a big snow-covered field. There was a lone Canada Goose standing about 30 feet from the road, with what looked like a baffled expression on its face. Naturally, I did not have my camera with me.

More lovely flowers! Perhaps I'll have a chance to find some flowers this weekend - all that snow last week is gone, and I can once again see my gas meter, thanks to someone cleaning up our yard.

Penolta - hope your flowers don't wilt in the heat the last two days. I took a walk today, wearing a long sleeved shirt and envied all the girls I saw walking in shorts and tank tops! It was very hot.

Weather here has been improving - not too hot this near the coast. Now if the winds would only stop blowing - more wind warnings today, and another storm predicted later this week - snow down to 3,000 ft, and in April, too. But with the longer days, things are growing fast and blooming - I should have some more color for you soon, although the condition of the flowers may not be prefect, and sharpness may suffer a bit from the wind. Butterflies are appearing and getting active, too, although there aren't too many of the right kind of flowers for them to feed on yet.

It's been a long time since we have seen that kind of color. It took my breathe away. Nice shots.
