Eric - would be glad to buy your camera if I had the funds! Hope you find a buyer soon, and also that you find lots of photographic pleasure with your new equipment. Be sure to post some of your photos with the new kit, so we can see your talent shine!

I'd say that despite your apparent blanket coverage you still aren't reaching your target audience. Or you're reaching them but not inspiring them. I advertised my mint condition Canon 5D on POTN (the ideal place) at a silly low price a while back because I wanted to get the newer version, but despite the apparent mania for people buying these things had not a single enquiry. I hadn't posted pictures (it was after all just a standard 5D just as it came from the manufacturer so I didn't see the need) but clearly my advert didn't resonate with people. I've now decided not to sell it, but to keep it until the next model comes out and then convert it to IR. Unless you need the funds your setup should/might produce you could consider that. I actually still own every camera I've ever personally owned - I owned some through my business which I have sold off, but never one I had for my personal use. That's going back many decades.

Actually, I have now sold my 70-200 2.8, and I have 3 people in the cue for selling my K-r+18-55, and the 50mm 1.4.

So for some reason, it took about a week, and then i was suddenly flooded with offers.

All thats left will be my sigma 105 2.8 macro, and my sigma 18-250.

I wish POTN was a pentax forum, lol, cause there are a lot of people on there!

Eric, I hope you find satisfaction with canon, or whichever brand you go with. I just wanted to say that I looked at your baseball photos on your Flickr page, and you have a really nice eye for photographing the game. If you felt that your Kr and your lenses were holding you back, I can't imagine how impressive your photos will be with gear that "works" for you. Personally, I'd be thrilled to be taking such fine photos, especially after only six months experience. Like many on this forum, I have been noodling around with photography for about 35 years, and I still feel that I'm a beginner.

That's the way it happens. When I listed my gear, there was nothing for a few days and then, bang, it went like hot cakes.

lol @ peter.

Thanks for the very kind words mtnman! comments like that make it all worth it

Also, another update if anyone cares:
I have now sold all my equipment except 1 lens now. That gives me plenty of cash to begin investing in canon stuff. I'm very excited.

once again, thank you to everyone who has commented on this thread and with PMs giving me advice and encouragement (or discouragement). I find that while this forum does not have the most amount of members here, the comments that are posted are always top notch.

For someone not interested in using f2.8 and better lenses, would the k-r make a good platform for sports/action photography? I did have a Nikon D50 for awhile and was pleased with my results using consumer grade lenses, but am looking for a new DSLR with a faster frame rate. The k-r appears to be the fastest in it's price range. I would rather not move up to a more expensive body as I don't see using f2.8 lenses in the near term. I hear mention of a front focus issue, but it sounds like it would not be a problem with the slower lenses.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike - I'd suggest starting your own thread mate. The title and age of this thread won't attract many that have been here, seen it, done it and left.
