Default Red-bellied Woodpecker

I found this nest in Green Cay Wetlands about 60 feet (20 meters) from the Northern Flicker nest. Hope we have some future chicks.

Great captures of the expression and the action. Will look forward to seeing/hearing more as the family progresses!

Yes, I used 540 flash with a better beamer extender. The flash was set to high speed fill.

Lovely shots, especially the first!

I keep hearing a woodpecker when I am out for my lunchtime walks, but have yet to catch sight of it.
