Penolta - Thanks for your kind words and helpful suggestions. Will try some of your PSE ideas. The yellow-spotted millipede (and its very similar red-spotted cousin) are quite common in our region, especially in late spring and early summer. At least some of the softness in the flowers is due to breezy spring weather (those little flowers just won't hold still!).

Les - Glad you enjoyed these. The dragonfly is a just-emerged male Common White Tail. They don't develop the white "tail" (abdomen) until several days after emerging as adults. Yes, have been enjoying the K20D, still learning...

Hans - Thanks so much!

Harriet - Thanks for your input and very helpful suggestions. I usually just shoot JPG, will try "fiddling" with settings to see what works best.

Jelpee - Thanks for your very kind words and helpful input!

Ira - Thanks for your very kind words, and your insights into the various camera models...

Kevin - Yes, I would much rather be out on the trail than indoors at the computer screen! Will continue trying different settings, so that will need less time for PP. Glad to hear you are resisting the urge to consume millipedes!!

TSquare - Glad you enjoyed these, and that your son is enjoying his "borrowed" camera! I know Townsend very well (one of my daughters lives and works there) - a very scenic corner of the Smokies. Hope your friend is having a fine photographic week in the midst of this lush East Tennessee springtime!

Rodney - so glad you enjoyed these!
