Just returned from a quick trip to Maine, so I'm a bit behind, but yes indeed congratulations. That image is surely worthy of the recognition it has received!

Thanks!

Dave, Hope you get there soon, it's fantastic. Many (most?) of the pictures I took in Antelope Canyon were bracketed exposures and I used photomatix to merge for HDR. Even then, I had some trouble with the hazy sky being blown out. There's a huge difference between light at the top of the canyon and that at the bottom, some photo advice I've seen suggested being careful to not include the top. Using HDR helps deal with that.

I used the 10-17 mostly, the fisheye really worked well here. I didn't defish the shots. I think Dan used the 50-135 and it worked well. I had the FA77 and used it a couple of times, but not all that often. A tripod is pretty much a must, especially since I was taking bracketed shots specifically for HDR merging.

Harriet, always liked that photo. Would love to see that canyon some day, the formations and colors are so cool. Well deserved PotD.
