Default Le Coupe Stanley

Yesterday we went to the Boston Bruins Rolling Parade in Boston to celebrate the winning of the Stanley Cup. Just my wife and I with a million of our closest friends. Most people don't know there are (3) Stanley Cups-the original which never leaves the Hockey Hall of Fame, the Presentation Cup (in this shot) and another which is on display in the Hall of Fame. Taken at the corner of Park & Tremont St-downtown Boston. Ist DS with DA 50-200 Minor cropping

My son, who just graduated from a college in the Boston area, is a die-hard Bruins fan. Several weeks ago he agreed to help out a local non-profit group this weekend, then he was mortified to learn that because of his promise, he would have to miss the celebration parade in Boston. So even though you were there with a million friends, I know of one who was missing. That's a fine photo, by the way!

Very cool pictures! They'd have to keep more than one cup, considering how the traveling one gets around, and occasionally dropped (even by an elderly cup winner). It must weigh a TON!

The original cup was made in 1893 so it is quite thin and fragile. The Presentation Cup weighs 35 lbs. If you ever want to win a trivia bet for a drink ask if there are any women's names on the cup. There are (12)-team owners and partners over the years.

A very long time since 1972-the year I was married-now two kids and three grandchildren later-retirement coming soon-that's a lot of "Wait until next year" Boston sports fans have been spoiled-7 pro championships in 9 years-now they expect it-they should try living in other parts of the country

I can't believe you ventured into town that day. It must have been worse than the normal zoo. Watching from my TV at home was enough for me.
