Default Lovely Lupins

A few weeks ago I went fishing for a weekend in northern Ontario and I had meant to show you all the beautiful wild lupins that fill the ditches in that rocky locale.Mile after mile there are stretches of these smothering the sides of the Trans Canada...I wish we could have stopped more and took more photos but it's an awfully busy highway.

Those are very nice photos Kashka. I love the lupines that bloom all over New England in early summer. This year especially, after a brutally cold and snowy winter, and a cold rainy spring, it was a very special treat in mid June to see the lupines burst forth!

We have a a couple of different varieties of lupine that grow around here. It wasn't a great year for wildflowers but I saw some. They are one of my favorite wildflower. Your pictures do them justice, you certainly had more than we did!

First photo could be from the tourism department - a great advertisement for the lovely roadsides. 2nd photo is just perfect color, DOF and composition! Thanks for sharing both wonderful images!

Very nice shots. I must admit though that I can't see the word Lupin without thinking of a Monty Python sketch where a highway robber goes around holding up stagecoaches for lupins.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of that.
