Summer is not the best time for waterfall watching - low water levels and bright summer days... But we still had to pay a visit to one of my favorite waterfalls, right down a short trail at Tremont. Which of these views of Spruce Flats Falls do you prefer?

The Smokies is one of America's most-visited National Parks - yet we found many opportunities for solitude, thanks to hundreds of miles of trails through rich forests, and the many folks who work to maintain them. Sure do hope you enjoyed this little taste of this fine park, and that you will have a chance to explore for yourself someday soon!

Thanks for any comments, critique & suggestions!!

+1 to MadMikeSS remarks, as for the falls I like the 1st best, I also like the shot of the Pink Turtlehead and the cottontail.

Great set. Which lens were you using for these photos?

I Agreed with hnikesch number one is great.

These are absolutely gorgeous Mole. I also like the first waterfall photo best, and I love the birch growing over the stump. I did not know that there was any old growth forest in the Smokies. I knew that the national park was assembled from many worn out and abandoned farmsteads, so I assumed that all the forests were second (or third) growth.

Very nice series! I like both the first and third waterfall pictures, but all of them are nice. Sure makes me want to visit your part of the world some day.

Lovely series Mole ! That Skink's eggs are rather large in proportion to the poor little beast aren't they ? Very painful ! Loved the second shot of the Turk's Cap Lilies.
