Okay, I did darken it some more, and it looks nicer.. and I am thankful for your cropping in suggestion. I can only make the photo a little darker (I started over from the RAW shot) but if I go even darker, then there starts to be problems with the sky. I can always crop the original. Thanks for your kind help!

Thanks JeannieBug and Mole!!! You know, because I didn't want to disturb the the couple sitting on the pier, I quickly knelt down and shot this photo as quickly as I can... only wishing it were possible to use a tripod... Thanks again.
