Default Flying Boat?

Spotted this flying over my neighborhood today. It was quite a ways off, so these are heavily cropped. Anyone know what type of plane it is?

Looks like a Republic RC-3 Seabee to me.

I'm glad Daz weighed in, 'cuz I had no idea what it is. Very nice shots, by the way.

It might have been way off, but it's an interesting looking plane to me. I have no idea what it is either.

Thanks Daz. I did a google search on the RC3 and that is exactly what it is. Interesting that Wikipedia states that production on these stopped in 1947 and the last new RC3 was sold in 1948.
