Default Old pharmacy

Hi there,
for some reason I was quite fascinated by that old pharmacy in the city of Baden-Baden. A small side street suddenly opened up to a small square and I saw this:

A closer look. I know, it's kinda trashy, but still...

Leaving that place through the street to the left side of the building.

There is a certain word in german for that kind of architecture: "Bäderarchitektur" and "building style typical for spas and health resorts" is a poor translation to my mind. Is there a better english word for it?

Kind regards,
Th.

Very nice shots Th, seem like many German town have blocked some streets to traffic, makes it nice to window shop and set in a sidewalk pub. I plan to visit again when the dollar isn't that low to the Euro. I have spent some time in Koln for business now I want to visit for pleasure.

A very pretty place, indeed. Have no idea about an english word - there may not be a good translation. Also, it seems that I missed a great deal of Baden-Baden when I was there. But then the only place I really visited there was the Canadian base (had friends there).

@hnikesch
Well, yes and no - a lot of cities have kind of a pedestrian zone, but not all of these actually "work" or are nice to visit. Also if there aren't enough people with enough cash to spend in the shops/restaurants etc. those zones virtually die and look like an abandoned place.

@mtngal
I actually visited only a small part of the city but I think it's a nice place to relax. Can't say something about actually living there, though. I'll have some more images from the city and can post some of these if you want to take another look.

@lesmore49, Bowenp, Goldwinger
Thank you! With all the great places on our planet I sometimes feel a bit silly if I can find things like an old pharmacy interesting , though.

G'day TH

Thanks for sharing those lovely images
To answer your Q ... I would describe the building as 'quaint, olde worldly'

@bowenp ... to those outside the US, the term 'drugstore' implies an illegal location for illegal drugs - that's why we prefer 'pharmacy' or 'chemist'

Regards, Phil
