Default Maybe I won't be getting a k5

Looks like my mint K7, and lens may not even be worth $650.00. I have 15 watchers, but no bids with only 14 hours left. Unless the K5 drops in price I may not be buying one after all. That sure didn't hold it's value.

I know I won't be buying one-seems way over priced to me-one of my close friends has a Sony system-not that I would ever switch-but their new camera announced yesterday ($1400) seems incredible.

It's a rare camera body that holds it's value well. With the sensor gains in the K-x and k-r and the af performance gains in the k-5, it's a tough market to sell a k-7 in.

I sold mine for GBP 430 (about $700) so I reckon you could get around $600 (cameras hold their value better over here). Don't forget that the majority of buyers won't start serious bidding until the last 60 seconds of the auction !!

I have a sniping program I use and my bids only start in the last 15 seconds !

Looks like I will be getting my K5. Someone just hit my reserve of $675.00 pluse $20.00 shipping. I still have 9 hours left, and 14 watchers so it may hit $700.00

Ok, tell me all the cool stuff about the K5. I know there are minor changes. How well does the new HDR work hand held? Are the menus basically the same? Are there any problems with the K5 I should be aware of like the stained sensor issue? Woohoo! I'm getting a K5 unless of course the money doesn't show up in my paypal account.

Great stuff Tony - be surprised if it didn't reach US$750 now !

The K5 is a massive step up ... you'll love it I'm sure.

It's going to be great to have the iso set automatically, and take control of the shutter speed, without to much noise creeping in. For me I found the K7 totally acceptable to 800, and beginning to irritate me at 1600. I do have denoise though for the occational correction.

Is there anywhere on the web I can go see images shot with the K5 at 3200 ISO?
