Default First shots with K-5

Just shot these around my house. ISO is unbelievable! I'll really get out with it this weekend.

Congrats Tony. I'm very envious. I really want a K5, but right now I don't have the budget for such an indulgence. Please post photos to show the camera's capabilities, and by all means, come back from Italy with many wonderful photos!

Thanks. I should get out with it a bit this weekend. I did shoot a couple shots at 4000 ISO, and I was amazed! I plan to get excellent shots in Italy. You really must get this camera, I mean now the TAv mode is my new friend.

Congratulations...always nice to have a new toy!

Yes, do post some images that show the capabilities of the K5. I am very interested in the ISO capabilities. BTW, there does not appear to be any EXIF data on the images you posted...is the camera suppressing it, or is it being stripped in the post processing?

Not sure. All I did was down size the images, and exported out of Aperture 3. I'll have to have a look. I can tell you that the high ISO, and dynamic range simple blows my K7 out of the water. I'll post something soon.

Very impressive. And, having just realized that Pentax dropped the price of it by $400 for now, I'm ready to jump on the bandwagon. http://www.pentaxwebstore.com/detail/PTX+14748

$100 price reduction, $300 instant rebate through 11/30/2011. It's still not the price I wanted to pay, but I'm going to be keeping my eyes open for the places that offer lower prices.

My problem is I'm about to hit our account with another large purchase my hubbie has told me for two years I could buy.

Congrats on your purchase. I love the pics of Fido. Such a look on his/her face.

Patty
