Yes, it arrived this morning at 11:30. Battery is charging now and I should be able to test it tonight when I get home. Will let you know how it goes. I know I've got my fingers and toes crossed.

Good luck Patty. I'm sure number two will be a winner! Let us know. Just curious what the first 3 numbers of the serial number are?

Can't wait to hear your impressions. I simply love mine. Even Brenda gave me a "wow" on the first pics I posted, and she's a tough audience, lol.

Well, I spent so much time outdoors trying out the new camera this morning, I don't have time to process or post anything. I've taken about 50 photos so far. Card in and out of camera, with no LCD problems. So, thinking this one's a good one. I may have to do some lens adjustments. But, that's not a problem.

Anyway, all's looking good. Will post some tonight when I get home.

Tony - the first three numbers are 407. The numbers on the one I returned were 405.

Hi Patty,

Congrats on the K-5! I know this one's going to be a good one. . .

I think that you'll be so happy with it that the initial bad taste will be washed away very quickly and completely.

Don't limit yourself to outside shooting, even if you don't have "appropriately fast" lenses. One of my favorite "indoor" lenses with the K-5 is my DA 18-250 , and it's f3.5-6.3 --hardly fast by any standard. The cool thing about it is that it focuses close (@ 1.5 ft at any FL), and my cats are finding it hard to get either too close or too far away to shoot -- they are not happy about this. . .

I shoot jpegs, and have set the Auto ISO to 80-10,000, and can shoot comfortably, even in relatively dim light indoors (AF does need some help by prefocusing though in dim light)

I think you're going to have a lot of fun with this body!!!
