My K20D has a far more limited set of filters so I have compounded them. First I used "Extract Colour" and chose yellow, Then I applied "Illustration" twice to make the effect more obvious, and finally I applied the "Slim" filter to fill the frame.

Seems like I'm always trying to get the sharpest shots, so decided to try just the opposite, and use the soft filter on some fall foliage. Not sure if I like the result, or if will use filters again, but it was fun to try out some.

Here's my new entry. I went further away from reality with this one - I ran the watercolor filter twice and thought it gave this particular picture an interesting look:

I'm glad we're casual here as I have decided to change my entry. I just could not get it to look on the web how it looked in the camera. It lost sharpness and saturation. Final entry. Shasta daisies with watercolor, toy camera and custom settings.

This monthly challenge has been a lot of fun. I'm another who had never tried the in-camera filters. In fact, I had no idea how to access them, so I had to read the manual!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary a few weeks ago at a small cabin on a pond in Maine. We thought the foliage would be close to peak colors, but that was not the case. Most of the leaves were still green, with only a few changing colors. Still, I liked this photo of my wife exploring a shallow cove. I used the selective desatuation, keeping only the red colors. As you can see, only a few leaves were red. I think I still prefer the original, but this version certainly draws the eye toward her red kayak.

Hardly use in-camera filter as well.
Sunset using high contrast filter on Pentax K5.

Since I have the DL, I don't have a lot of filter options. One I do have is B&W so that is what I will use for this month. Taken at Kiawah Island in South Carolina. DL, kit lens.

We're getting down near the end of the month, and I've produced some of the worst effects that will never see the light of day, but I've also seen some great possibilities as the result of this challenge. I'm pulling my other entry and replacing it with one shot a couple of weeks ago in a stop by the zoo in Little Rock.

Because of harsh lighting conditions, the image was very high contrast naturally. I added the high contrast filter, then the pastel.

Shot with the K5 and the Sigma 50-500mm.

OK well it's the last day so if there are any johnny-come-latelys then now is the time !

Here's mine, I used the posterization filter and then two selective colours (red & green) set to their maximum values. This couple were having some pre-wedding shots taken down a narrow road and I was stuck in traffic, just a grab shot out of the car window. Cropped in camera and then taken and posted on-line.
