Default Thanks to all who helped!

Ok, it's done. I have settled on the 18-135. It has enough zoom to get me close enough to most things, pretty much passable wide angle for the narrow streets, and if I can get image quality as good as my 55-300 I'll be happy. I will also bring my 55-300 just in case I need it. So far my K5 has been great. I'm hoping that the high ISO performance of the K5 will get me by without the need to bring a tripod. Thanks to all who put up with me through this difficult decision. I'm very grateful for all the useful input. I promise to come back with some outstanding shots! I will order the lens today.

It's a good choice, the focal length is just about perfect for travel, especially if that trip doesn't include national parks, bird watching areas, etc.
