Default December 2011, Monthly Challenge: Gifts&Wrapping

First thanks for all the votes in the last challence, I'm still surprised that I can set the next challenge.

It's December now, and I guess lots of people are gift wrapping, or are going to start soon. So why not a challenge about gifts and wrapping.

Leaving this as far open as possible, so
  • gifts being wrapped
  • wrapped gifts
  • stacked wrapped gifts
  • gifts being unwrapped
  • wrapping paper
  • ...

As usual, pictures should have been taken with a Pentax/Samsung DSLR within the past 90 days.

So lets start wrapping

Brilliant topic (and congrats on the win)! I can imagine a collection of pictures showing mounds of wrapping paper and ribbon abandoned in favor of the toys that had been wrapped in them. Or a collection of pictures showing the oddest looking wrapped packages.

hmmmm...... I have a K-5, and it didn't come with wrapping.... so what will I shoot? ..... Oh, wait....you mean there should be presents FROM me? Wives do NOT necessarily want camera stuff? I'll figure it out in time to find something to wrap.......

Here's a starter. I may change it later. A display at a local resort. Kx, Tamron 18-250. FYI: I have had a terrible time lately getting the sharpness to translate to the site. Anyone else? Suggestion?

How much do you resize your photos? The forum's software is brutal if the file size or dimensions are too big. I almost always link from zenfolio and they seem to be fairly good about their resizing options.

I have been using the simple resize tool and save for web. I keep the size under 200 kb as suggested and no larger than 1,000 pixels across. I have tried way oversharpening at times and still get the softness on the web.

I didn't expect a lot of submissions the first weeks, but it's really quit here, so here's mine.
I'm still searching to find something better, but never thought this would be so hard.

k5 + lensbaby

have a great Christmas Weekend.

Here's a member of our family who didn't get very excited about the holiday. Santa was generous to us this year, although he apparently had only one roll of wrapping paper! Here's hoping everyone had a joyous and meaningful holiday.
