External flashes provide more power and fast recycle. I use an old (ME Super Program) vintage AF200T, It selects the shutter speed and aperture but you must set ISO. The flash automation selects correct light output. The TTL option on the flash does not work with any Pentax Digital cameras it must support P-TTL I have seen them on E Bay for around $20

Can't help you with the comparison of K20 with Kx or Kr, but will say that K20 is far superior to my K-m (same as K2000). Much less noise at any ISO, better dynamic range, better control, etc etc.

In addition to KEH, you might want to check out the Pentax Forums marketplace - a good source of used equipment:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I found a K20 that I'm just waiting to arrive by mail, and will decide later what to do about the DL. Cheers, Mike

Keep the DL as a back-up, you can always use it outside. It's still a very nice camera. I used to use two cameras often - one with a wide angle and one with a telephoto lens, so I don't have to keep changing lenses every shot. I haven't been doing that much recently, the K5 has definitely spoiled me.
