Default Christmas Concert and some boasting

Warning: this thread contains some maths that does lead up to severe boasting. Not about myself, but on behalf of my school and the students that study there.

My school is an ordinary, public school at upper secondary level, situated in a smallish town far from the capital. We recruit locally from a population basis of some 150 000 people out of the country's nine million. Every year we take on 45 new students in the music stream, making them a total of 135 at the same time in the three grades.

The last eight years the major commercial TV station has run the Swedish edition of the "Idol" contest, presumably well known to most of you since it is a formatted show sold to most developed countries.

In Sweden, an average of 10 000 apply and make an audition for the show. One hundred of these are selected for broadcasted regional finals, and from the one hundred twelve gets further to the national finals. In live broadcasts one is excluded every week, till there is only the winner left. But there is honour and money in the jar also for number two and three.

In these eight years there have been a total of 24 medallists.
Now to the boasting: Four of these are or have been students at our school! For this we have gained national attention in most papers and TV stations. We peaked this year with "our" two contestants fighting over the gold medal in the final broadcast. The school was filled with kids that night, watcing the broadcast in the assembly hall and having a blast as did the staff. Unfortunately I couldn't be there myself.

So to the pictures, from the Christmas Concert a few days ago:

First our "idol" winner, Amanda Fondell (remember where you heard about her first, this girl has star quality!)

Great shots Billy, #2 & #4 stand out !

Fantastic for the school - wonderful record, though in a way a pity that the final two were both from your school, dividing loyalties.

Absolutely great shots, and congrats to the students, I was trying to look at the exif data but your software strips it off, just trying to get some idea of focal length and ISO

G'day Kjell

Boasting is permissable :-)

For me #1 is a classic shot for this genre, and #3 is a classic shot of the teachers in teaching-uniform !!! ... frame it in the school main entrance foyer

All images are technically excellent ~ as obviously from your text so is the students & teaching qualities. Well done

Regards, Phil

Looks like your school happens to be a quick launching pad for the Swedish Idol (same set up as American Idol)
At least you gave great photographic record of the participants. Good show
