Default Boring Fireworks

Just a few for fun and not the best as for the most part I was obstructed by trees - so I tried to use them to frame the explosions - these were hand-held (stabilised against a window frame) mostly 3-5 secs, 100 ISO, F10 and K5 with either Sigma 30 or Sigma 50-150. I may try to get some better shots later on during this Chinese New Year week-long celebration.

Here's wishing you all a wonderful Year of the Water Dragon !

The Angels' Ascent

The Golden Pheasant

Alien Attack

Traffic Jam

Stars & Stripes

Electric Spears

Now,don't please be apologetic about these pics, they are as fine as any others there could be.Despite the trees and the constraints you mention they are beautiful.

Impressive stuff! Especially handheld at 3- 5 seconds.

And here's wishing you a happy new year! Interesting, every reference I've seen/heard just refers to the Year of the Dragon, not the Water Dragon. Is it just the west being lazy/ignorant?

Don't look boring to me - some very fine photos here! As always, you showed great skill in composing these, despite the limitations.

Wanaclick - thank you, pleased you enjoyed them !

Thanks Keith. Yes there are 5 elements (fire, water, earth, metal and wood) to go with the 12 Chinese zodiac signs and so each combination only comes around once every 60 years.

Thank you Hans !

Thanks for the kind words Mole !

Very nicely done! Especially hand-held, I sure couldn't do that!
