I enjoyed these and I don't recall ever seeing a white tiger.

Thanks Tsquare ! This is the Winter coat of the South China Tiger - the world's most endangered tiger and now only found in zoos (around 100 individuals .. but that's up from 50 something a few years ago) but a breeding problem is in place and they are hoping to be able to reintroduce them to the wild, two locations have been short listed. Google it.

Siegfried and Roy, magicians who performed in Las Vegas for many years, owned a number of these tigers and helped in the breeding program. Unfortunately, Siegfried was seriously hurt during one performance in 2003. It was reported that his first concern when he regained consciousness was for the tiger involved in the incident. They still have their white tigers and they still display some of them at the Mirage, though they have retired from show business.
