Nice portrait of Puss Puss Rodney! Re. Nutmeg, it is said that cats adopt their owners...she looks like she has decided where home is!

Puss Puss doesn't look that old, in fact, she looks like she's in her prime.

I know what you mean about being adopted by cats. When I lived in Texas an adult cat (age unknown, spayed female) walked into our barn one day and never left. I don't know where she came from. A year or so later, another cat (male, less than a year and not neutered) started hanging around, one of a large quantity of half-feral cats that more or less belonged to a place down the street from us. We tried to chase him off/discourage him, but he wouldn't go. So one day I sat down and petted his long black and white hair. The next day we packed him up in a cage, took him to the vets to be neutered and given his shots and he joined our barn community. What a lover of a cat, he really was a sweetheart.

Puss Puss adopted Dad 17 years ago, he was a grown cat then, so we are not sure how old he is. He tried everyone in the street before settling here.

My favourite adoption story is from my neighbours, they were sitting on their front verandah with their two german shepherds, when they saw a cat walking down the footpath.

The cat turned into their driveway, strolled up the front steps, casually walked between the two shepherds, jumped up on a lounge, curled up and went to sleep and stayed 18 years.

Love that adoption story!

I know someone who lives in an apartment building. On the same floor is someone who has a cat, and the owner will let him walk the halls for some additional exercise. Just down the hall from the cat is someone who owns two small dogs (a bishon frise and a mutt that's mostly silky terrier). One day both owners were in the hallway with their charges loose - the three ended up spending an hour or more playing in the hall (not sure if the owners decided to allow that or if it took them that long to corral their charges!).

Rodney - so good to see you posting here again. It's been a while!

Very nice captures of both cats' personalities, and great stories as well!
