Default First Shoot Of Year

I have been out of circulation for a while. We had guests through December and one of our Son's required a serious surgery in January. Most of January was spent in Virginia, our son did well through the surgery and is now back to work but still a little weak. This was my first trip out with the camera to specifically shoot this year. First three photos are in Green Cay Wetlands and last two are in Wakodahatchee Wetlands, both in Boynton Beach, Florida.

K5, Sigma 8-16mm and Sigma 150-500mm

Congrats for the first one being POD today - I saw that bit before I saw your thread here. All are outstanding photos, but that first one is just lovely. Love the cardinals!

Love #1 Ed. - Looks like a painting !

The Great Egret returning to the nest with a frog in it's mouth is excellent too.

So glad to hear that your son is recovering well, and also glad to see more of your amazing photos! Especially like the last "action" photo!

(the cardinals look a little over-sharpened to me. Might just be because I am looking at a very small laptop screen - traveling/working at another park...)

Glad you're back Ed, and I'm especially glad your son came through the surgery well. These are all wonderful photos -- the first is superb and very deserving of its POTD distinction. I also love the GBH -- I can just feel the anticipation as it searches for a tasty morsel.
