Default Grapefruit League

Went to a spring training game for the home team Detroit Tigers, They won. First time in the stadium and should have had a longer lens. My seat could have been better as my view of home, first and third base was blocked a lot of the time. Still got a few keepers.

Hopefully you enjoyed the game! A good way to spend an afternoon

The biggest advice I could give is: adapt the types of shots you take to the equipment you have. In other words, try not to shoot action so far away and heavily crop. Be creative and instead of saying "I dont have the focal length I need to take the shots I want", say instead "I only have this focal length, what types of shots can I take with it?"

I think you captured some nice action shots. The last shot with the ball in the first basemen's hand and the runner on the base with the first base coach looking on was great photojournalism!

What you want is the equipment and vantage point of the photographer in the background of #4

I think those shots are impressive to me for an entry level camera. I think you did well.

Thanks John I agree I did shoot some wider stuff of the stadium and field but then I wanted to try some timing and anticipation skills for the next time. This was my first Major League game with a DSLR. I had been shooting my grand son's games and that was a lot easier. I did enjoy the game.

Thanks guys for the comments

Wingman, I didn't see that guy but you are correct looks like some nice stuff.
