I also am deeply saddened by this news. Like so many others on this forum, I learned an awful lot from him when I was a newbie on this board. I know there are many who benefited from his willingness to help. My deepest condolences to his family.

Thanks for that info Phil, sad news though it is ... Roy and I were friends from a couple of other forums, we did corrrespond via email irregularly, but when I think of it there's been nothing for a while.

He's been ill for a long while I know, and has suffered in that time, so this is perhaps a merciful release. ... Jack.

Sad news indeed.

Like many others, I was often the recipient of Roy's advice during my early dSLR days. He'll be missed.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Thank you Roy for all the time you spent helping me with my Pentax and photography equipment, along with the laughs, and good times. You will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.

A good man who helped many with his advice, kindness and wit. A great loss, but also an end to his long and patient suffering...

My family & I will keep Roy's family in our prayers.

I did not know Roy for long but saw he was always quick to help others. His long suffering is now over and may he rest in peace.
