Thank you ! Yes Keith it was the DA*300/4 though I can't remember if I had the Tamron x1.4 on it (it doesn't report to the EXIF) for 420mm (I suspect I didn't for this shot).

As you were [obviously] very close were these wolves 'pets' or domesticated?? or were you in a hide watching wild animals etc etc??

Thank you Phil !

I wasn't as close as this shot suggests - I estimate 25-30m. These were taken at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park and this is a reasonably sized compound (maybe 50-60m x 35-40m) for the animals .. though nothing like each of the absolutely huge areas (very rough guess 600m x 400m ? I wasn't paying too much attention to the size) for the lions, tigers (not the Ligers which were probably a mated pair in a much smaller area) and bears - you have to go on a bus to tour those .... and we are the caged animals.

Man those are superb, I am jealous, the last wolves I saw in captivity were all straggly and weren't worth lifting the camera to your face for.

Reminds me a lot of a Siberian Husky I had 15 years ago. Very sharp shot and I Love the detail in the eyes.
