Default OT -- Streaming video of Red Tail Hawk nest

Hi All,

Just thought I'd alert any interested to Cornell U. Dept of Ornithology's streaming video cam on a Red Tail Hawk nest on a light tower of one of the athletic fields.

http://www.allaboutbirds.org/page.aspx?pid=2422&ac=ac

The video is excellent, and if you have the bandwidth, is available in HD, though all the quality levels are pretty good. Apparently, the feed is capable of up to 100,000 viewers, and at this point is attracting 5000-8000 viewers at just about any time during the day.

There were three eggs, laid @ a month ago, and they hatched 4, 3, and 1 day ago.

The mom, named Big Red, currently seems to feed the chicks @ once an hour. I usually link to the site with the sound on, then open other windows and do other work. When I hear peeping, I check out the bird cam, and usually there is a feeding going on.

Pretty cool stuff!!!
