Spent part of last weekend at our little place in the Maine woods, and the Lady Slippers were in their full glory. To me, these members of the orchid family are a sure sign of spring!

Well, I finally got back on today and noticed the monthly challenge. Having forgotten about them totally over the past two months.

I'm not sure I'll be able to get something posted in time as my drive is locked up right now. But, we planted 8 rose bushes for my mother for Mother's Day a few weeks back. One for each of us children. She is no longer with us to enjoy them as of two weeks ago, but they will definitely remind me of spring and her each year. Roses were her favorite flowers.

Okay. I have to go now as I can't see my screen to write any more If my drive frees up in time I'll post the photo.

It's not the most photographic image and certainly not worthy of any votes but, I need to start participating again. We have been in the high 90's the past few days. Spring is over and, at least here in central California, we are into summer. And, this image will definitely remind me of at least this spring which has been wonderful to spend so much time with my mom.

Thank you, Frogfish. She is greatly missed by us all. I don't want to hijack this thread. I'll post a picture in another thread of her since so many of you here have been through the past three years with me and her ordeal with her cancer.

Patty

There were several excellent entries this month, making it (as usual) a very tough decision for me. In the end, I have to give the nod to Lou's (Keltech's) hummingbird.
