Here is my entry. I went to Great Meadow National Wildlife Refuge to shoot birds. I had my K5 and sigma 150-500 on the K5. I had set a high shutter speed to stop action and there were no birds to shoot that were close enough for decent results, there were however lots of dragonflies. So as Penolta says "If life brings you lemons, you can make lemonade".


K5 with Sigma 150-500 @ 440mm, f/18, 1/1000", ISO 3200

My vote is for mtngal's snowstorm. I've tried many times to get that effect and failed. She got it by accident, but she got it.
