Default The Alluring Aurelia

No photographer should ever fall head over heels in love with a beautiful model, but I hope forum members will forgive my infatuation, developed over the past few weeks of shooting a beautiful young lady named Aurelia. I took every opportunity to shoot my Hawaiian beauty before the 767 carried us home today. I will share several with you, my friends, but tonight's shots all come from a more formal session when I set up a Pentax 540 flash as my key light (Up and right) and a weaker Bower as a shadow light (level and left), both through umbrellas fired with remote triggers.

Although she displayed her joy in the first shots, her emotional reactions aren't so limited.....thoughtful, pensive, even concerned....

But it's always the smile that gets 'em.

All shots with the K-5 and the Pentax 18-135 WR..... quickly becoming my most used lens.

Paul

(Sorry I haven't been active lately. I had one of those incidents that convince people why they should never shoot weddings, particularly for friends and relatives.... sorta killed my enthusiasm for my camera for a while)

Definitely a cutie!

The few times I played around on my own taking wedding pictures convinced me that there's no way I would try to really photograph one. And I know the feeling where you want to toss out the camera because everything is so bad. Glad you didn't follow that feeling, these photos are lovely.

Thanks for the compliments, friends. Of course, I think she's the most beautiful little lady in the world; she's our first grandchild. As most of you can imagine, her image of her grandpa is a big man with a funny looking black thing called a Pentax growi
ng out of his face since I just couldn't stop taking pics of her.

Since she's Hawaii-born, there have to be shots of her at the beach. First one was at Sunset Beach a few minutes before prime sunset with a harsh sun behind Ari and her dad. Shot was taken with the 540 flash as a fill on high speed sync. I thought the effect was nice.

She was more than willing to help her daddy drive to the next beach.

Finally, I'm not the only one overly proud of her. And she DOES like Grandma's lap

All shots taken with the Pentax K-5, and the 18-135mm WR lens, a particularly handy lens for beach use since it is so versatile and doesn't require you to subject your camera to the possibility of sand during lens changes.

Congratulation to you all. Grandchildren are the best and this one is a real cutie. My wife always says if you have to have kids have the grandchildren first. LOL

Lou, if there was a "like" button, I would have hit it!
