Default August Monthly Challenge - Meal Time

Thanks for all the votes for my "three eyes" photo - glad you liked it (even though I think there were several much better ones...) Sorry to be a day late posting, have been "out on the trail" a lot lately, and not able to check in here.

Now for the August challenge: I first considered a number of topics based on compositional rules, post processing, etc. Then decided it might be more fun, and maybe would encourage more diverse entries, if we tried another topical challenge. So the topic is Meal Time. This should be broad enough to allow many interpretations: Perhaps a still-life of some food. Perhaps a Norman Rockwell-style family meal scene. Perhaps feeding time at the zoo, or some wild "critter" in nature enjoying its food. Perhaps someone busy in food preparation. Perhaps someone desperately in need of a meal...

Let's see your best photos on this rather broad & general topic.

Usual rules apply: taken within the last 3 months with a Pentax or Samsung D-SLRs

Hi all,

Here is my offering to kick things on a bit, taken while Jan, my much better half, was whipping up a batch of her winter warmer soup.

Two more great entries! Thanks Pboerger & Penolta!

Just a friendly reminder that there's only about one week left to post your photo.

I wasn't sure I'd find a shot this month - it's our high season and I'm run off my feet. But then I remembered the 3 month rule and this one makes it under the wire being taken in June :

It's a Green-billed Malkoha and lunch (this is quite a large bird - crow sized - so that is a huge grasshopper) ! This was taken on the island of Hai-Nan in Southern China.

Default "Heron Mealtime Site"

That's quite a meal Kevin! Thanks for posting!

I had a very different shot planned for this month, but never got it right, and am running low on time. So here's a shot of one of our local fish attractor sites that is becoming a waterbird feeding area instead...

(PS - only a few days left to post your mealtime photo!)
