Default Farewell to Summer

Ironweed is a common late-summer bloom here in the East Tennessee hills. Frequently called "Farewell to Summer" because it reaches peak bloom when summer is about over. Here's a typical Ironweed/summer shot, complete with green summer meadow, and approaching summer thunderstorm.

My entry from July, this has been the best summer (weather wise) we have had in Newfoundland in my memory, as a result people have learned to walk on water.

I had some plans for this summer but work intervened and the plans when out the door. I just got back into town so this is all I have time for and is mostly the last of my summer.

Been meaning all month to get out and shoot something specific. But, that never happened. So, here is one I took when Lou (keltech) and I went out recently.

This was taken earlier this year (so if the 3 month rule is in effect here then it rules out this shot) on a Chinese island of virtual eternal Summer.

However for me, and maybe many more, a plane has a special connection with Summer, often representing the arrival at, or departure from, the land of our Summer vacation !

Hard to pick here.

I did want to mention to Frogfish that I really dig that 'plane landscape'. I think that might be one of the coolest photos I've seen lately.

I do believe there is a 90 day cut off, and that aside, to me it isn't reminiscent of summer as much as Dane/Dawg's macro shot- so my vote goes to that.
