Default South Dakota Scenic Byway 14A

On the road between Spearfish and Deadwood SD is highway 14A. A Cruise through towering limestone walls following the Spearfish Creek with many areas to pull off the road. We found a few locals, a Chipmunk and a mountain goat. The colors were changing making for a few nice shots.

Awesome! I've never seen a wild goat before. Great capture.

Beautiful shots, Hans. My wife and I were up there (Deadwood Lodge) the first week of August for the Sturgis motorcycle rally. We went through the canyon trying to outrun a storm, while riding a trike, so I got no pictures. lol. But yours are great, and make me long for next year. All that area is just gorgeous, and very photogenic.

Wow! What fabulous fall color! The first and last one of the first set are particularly nice, my favorites. Though the goat photos are outstanding, too. He looks like he's all ready for winter now.

We have not yet done S. Dakota but it is on our bucket list. Love the shots you got and it will help inspire me to get out there soon.

Great shots. We love going out there. It's a fabulous place. Hope you gave the chipmonk a peanut. Looks like he was expecting payment for posing so nice for you.
